You’ve recently launched the new version of Snagit, tell us a little bit about the product and what’s new?
Snagit 2020 is more than a screenshot and screen recording tool. Now you can create professional-looking technical documentation and instructional content right inside Snagit.
Snagit 2020 comes complete with a wide array of pre-made Templates to help you share technical knowledge at a glance in a way that looks clean and professional. That means it’s easier than ever to create content. Just choose your layout and go.
Snagit has always been the perfect tool for quick and easy screen recordings, but what if you want to create video from a series of screenshots? Now, with Create Video from Images, you can talk and draw over a series of screenshots without the pressure of having to get it perfect every time. And there’s a ton of flexibility, too. Want to record your webcam while you narrate? You can do that. Want to record the mouse cursor? You can do that, too.
Snagit 2020 makes it even easier to share knowledge, especially in corporate environments. In addition to our already huge array of sharing options, we’ve added sharing direct to popular collaboration platforms Box and Slack.
We are also introducing a new Snagit Certification program — available to anyone who purchases Snagit Maintenance. Snagit Certification provides exclusive access to a new way to learn all of Snagit’s most useful and advanced features.
So, who do you see as the main users of Snagit and what type of tasks are they using Snagit to improve?
Workplace technology is getting more complicated by the day. Unlike a decade ago, today’s workers may need to know five, 10, or even 20 different pieces of software to do their jobs. And, as the pace of technology changes increase, it can seem as though we’re always learning a new technology or teaching it to someone else.

What are your top tips for positioning and selling Snagit to potential new users?
When positioning Snagit to potential new users we like to focus on the problems they are trying to solve. For many people, Snagit is their go-to tool for explaining things at work. Think about how many times you have to help a co-worker learn a new software tool or explain how to do something to a customer. Snagit screen capture and recording software helps you quickly capture a process, add your explanation, and create visual instructions that are easy to understand.
Finally, how do you support your partners to taking Snagit to market?
TechSmith provides active support to its partners. We offer account mapping to help identify opportunities and will sit in as silent observers on calls if asked. Whenever our partners might need us, we are there, without overstepping. We work as a team with our partners, pursuing and celebrating each other’s mutual success.
